What is the intranet?
The Cloud Exit Intranet is the internal system of record for engineering time, customer projects, SLA allowances, and invoice preparation. It replaces spreadsheets and ad-hoc messages with one traceable workflow.
It is a web application. You sign in with your Cloud Exit account (single sign-on) and see only what your role allows.
What you can do here
- Log time against a customer project, day by day, and submit it for review.
- Review and approve submitted time (reviewers, finance, administrators).
- Set up customers and projects, assign engineers, and map accounting references (finance, administrators).
- Define agreements, monthly allowances, and rates so work can be billed.
- Close monthly billing periods and inspect the billing evidence.
- Run reports and export a monthly timesheet as CSV.
- Administer people, roles, API tokens, service clients, and the audit trail.
How this guide is organised
The guide is role-first. Start with the shared basics, then read the guide that matches your role:
- Roles and permissions — what each role can do.
- Signing in — SSO and the dev sign-in.
- Finding your way around — the layout and common interactions.
- Then your role guide: Engineer, Reviewer, Finance, or Administrator.
Not sure which role you are?
Look at the bottom-left of the sidebar — your name and role are shown there.
The core workflow
Time moves through a fixed lifecycle. Nothing is billable until it has been approved, and every step is attributable to a person and a timestamp.
See Statuses and states for the full list.
Where to next
