Getting in

How do I sign in? Use Sign in with … on the login screen (SSO). If no provider is configured, use the dev sign-in.

Why do I get "You do not have access to this page"? You reached a section your role doesn't cover. The sidebar only lists sections your role can open, but the server still enforces access. See the Permission matrix.

Logging time

Why is my project list empty? You are an engineer with no project assignments. Ask an admin to assign you on Customers and projects.

Can I log more than 24 hours in a day? Yes — hours is capped at 24 per entry, but you can add several entries per day.

Can I edit an approved entry? No. Approved entries are frozen; ask a reviewer/finance to reopen the period or void the entry. See Statuses and states.

How do I fix a rejected entry? Edit and resubmit it. Fix a rejected entry.

Where is the rejection reason? In the audit trail, on the time_entry.rejected event for that entry.

Reviewing

A card says "no longer awaiting review" — why? Someone else already decided that entry. Refresh the queue.

Can I approve everything at once? Yes: Approve all in the Review queue. Note it ignores duplicate flags.

Do I have to give a reason to reject? Yes — it is required and is shown to the engineer and in the audit.

Billing & commercials

When does time become billable? Only approved + billable hours are billed. See Billing.

How are retainers handled? The allowance is consumed first; only overage is billed. See Agreements and allowances.

Which rate applies? The most specific effective rate: project, then customer, then the engineer's default. See Rates.

Can I bill an open period? Close it first. Closing marks the month final; reopening recalculates.

API

How do I get a token? An admin creates a personal token or a service client.

Where are the API docs? The interactive Swagger UI is at /api-docs; a quickstart is here.

My token was refused with 403 even though it has the scope. Scopes are intersected with the owner's role. A scope can't grant more than the role allows.

Data & environments

Is staging real data? No — synthetic only, and access is allowlisted. Look for the staging banner.

Is every change recorded? Time, approvals, commercials, roles, and credentials are audited. See Audit trail.
